Cuddy Farms Founder Mac Cuddy Will Be Missed

It’s with great sadness that I announce that Mr. A.M. (Mac) Cuddy passed away on October 18, 2006. Mac was 86 years old and just days away from turning 87. Mac started Cuddy Farms in 1950 and was a pioneer in the turkey industry.  Although Mac has been suffering from multiple sclerosis for a number of years and had been confined to a bed for the last six years, he was an inspiration and tower of strength for the organization. He continued to provided encouragement and wisdom up to the time of his death.

Mac was a pioneer in developing the turkey industry. He was instrumental in developing techniques for year round breeding of turkeys, in developing the white turkey with George Nicholas who was a great friend of his and in developing other innovations for commercial turkey breeding.  At one time, one out of every six turkeys sold anywhere in the world came from a Cuddy Farms turkey egg.

Under Mac’s guidance, the company grew into an international company supplying turkey eggs into numerous countries around the world as well as into further processing of turkey and chicken.  Mac was truly a pioneer, an innovator and a major force in the turkey industry.

Given Mac’s long term illness, initiatives had been put in place to ensure the ongoing operation of the business with no interruption. I assure you that your relationship with Cuddy Farms will continue and that we will continue to meet the high standards established by Mac.

Mac will truly be missed.
